Artist Statement

Life’s overlooked details are my muse. Whether it’s captured moments, precious things, oddities or emotions, I believe these things are what make life worth living. In a time when everyone’s attention is diverted by a screen in their hand that doles out sculpted realities and dismaying news, I think it’s important to stop and smell the flowers.

Acrylics allow me to interpret these musings, and I pull from my backgrounds in drawing—both realism and cartooning—and graphic design to create lively, illustrative pieces that are hard to overlook. Sometimes incorporating collage, drawing or other media, I love to bring focus and added complexity to the seemingly mundane subject. I want to share how I see these—life’s fascinating details—with you.
