I am a longtime lover of music and dancing—and dancers—and wanted to capture this character balancing on one hand in the street in a creative way. A spoof on “breakdancing,” I titled this “Breaking News” because his tattoos are actually graphics clipped from newspapers and collaged onto the canvas. It was a fun experiment with monochromatic colors, graphic patterns and flat shading.
