From Above They Came

From a photo I took while visiting Laguna Beach with some girlfriends, I wanted to capture the whimsical moment when a presumptuous seagull couldn’t get close enough to our café brunch. We could see the distorted shadow of his body, and the sunlight shining through the pink flesh of his feet dangling over the edge. I painted this on a larger canvas to emulate the scale of the café umbrella.
