An exercise in mixed media, this painting was my way of combining my love of rendering figures in charcoal while also applying opaque areas of color in a similar way as a fun, graphic-esque playing card. Interpret it as you will, but I had fun putting both the king and queen on one card, with their eternally printed roles refreshingly reversed!
