A mouse lemur is, well, the size of a mouse. This one was painted on a 30x40 canvas—an experiment in scale emphasized by the giant, red-fingernailed hand holding him, and the tiny humans reflected back out from his oversized, shiny eyeballs. The eyes have a high gloss varnish on them to enhance their dimension and sheen. A unique painting to see, it’s been shown in a couple gallery shows, even earning an honorable mention.
