I took a photo of a bizarre strawberry years ago, recognizing its oddness and wanting to save it. It was misshapen, furry, and had leaf buds in odd places. It looked like a heart. I captured this whimsically unique strawberry in built up layers of textured medium, paint and charcoal to create this substantial, almost animated interpretation.
